“Nothing you do for children is ever wasted”

-Garrison Keillor

CASAs are the voice of the voiceless.

CASA is an acronym for Court Appointed Special Advocates. CASAs are specially trained community volunteers that a judge appoints to serve children entering the welfare system due to neglect and/or abuse by their caregivers. CASA volunteers are the child's voice, speaking for that child's best interest throughout the entire juvenile court proceedings. A CASA Volunteer is an ordinary person at least 21 years of age, able to deal with complex emotional situations, able to avoid over-involvement with the child and is interested in the child's well-being FIRST!

CASAs are ordinary people who are members of our community who:

  • is at least 21 years of age

  • is able and willing to deal with complex emotional situations

  • is able to avoid over-involvement with the child

  • is interested in putting a child’s well-being 1st!
